On 19th of July 1902, Constable Turner and Police Assistants Wallaby and Toby, left for Halls Creek to search for several escaped prisoners from Wyndham Regional Prison.
On 20th September 1902, Constable Turner left their camp at 7am leaving Police Assistant Wallaby in charge of eight prisoners. When Constable Turner returned a few hours later, he found Police Assistant Wallaby murdered and the prisoners had escaped.
A prisoner called Canbadgie was caught on 30th September 1902 and charged with the murder of Police Assistant Wallaby.
