On Friday 6th of November 2020, whilst working at Perth Detectives, Detective Senior Constable Cursiter was involved in a vehicle pursuit which then resulted in a foot chase.

The offender was arrested and conveyed to Perth Police Station.

After returning to Perth Police Station, Detective Senior Constable Cursiter began to feel unwell and attended the station restroom, he was later found unresponsive by his colleagues who provided First Aid until paramedics arrived.

Detective Senior Constable Cursiter was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital but was unable to be revived after suffering a fatal heart attack. 

Detective Senior Constable Cursiter was cremated at Pinnaroo Valley Crematorium on St Andrew's Day, the Patrol Saint of Scotland, on Monday 30th November 2020 and was given a Police funeral with full honours.

Detective Senior Constable Cursiter leaves behind his partner Evie and two daughters.
