On Friday, the 28th of August 1998, at approximately 9.15pm, Constable Klumper and her colleague were on duty in a Police vehicle when her colleague conducted a U Turn to stop a speeding vehicle on Wanneroo Road, Wanneroo.

As they approached a right hand bend, the vehicle lost control, sliding onto the opposite carriageway, colliding with a telegraph pole, Constable Klumper died as a result of her injuries.

Constable Klumper was given a Police funeral with full honours
